Another oversized entry, this one 3'-6" x 7'-6", in the style of Greene and Greene. The wood is sapele, a relative of African Mahogany, but denser and with straighter grain. I would have preferred that the door was shorter, exaggerating the width and emphasizing, by contrast, the transition from outside to a wide open vaulted inner space. The door opens into a west facing room with a wall of glass facing to the west. In the late afternoon when the setting sun comes through the house the stained glass window explodes with color.
